About the author
Kenneth Whittaker is a father, storyteller, and advocate for emotional healing. After recognizing that his early childhood experiences in bars and strip clubs had shaped his understanding of relationships, Kenneth began a journey of self-discovery following his divorce after 23 years of marriage. His shift from seeking validation through passion and conquest to understanding true intimacy healed his relationship with himself and gave his three daughters a healthier model of love. Through vulnerable storytelling and hard-won wisdom, he helps others see the difference between passion and intimacy, offering hope for breaking generational cycles of emotional wounds.

I was five years old the first time my father took me to a bar. The smell hit me first — stale cigarettes mixed with something sharp and bitter that I'd later learn was whiskey. The room was dark even though it was the middle of the day, with only neon beer signs casting their colored glow across faces I couldn't quite make out in the haze. "Stay close, Kenny," he said. "And don't touch anything." Even at five, I could sense the hunger in that room. Not for food, but for something else entirely.
